Erika's 6th Birthday

Erika celebrated her 6th birthday at Mimi and Popi's in Mt. Shasta. She says the highlights included the chocolate cake and her new stuffed Chihuahua which she named "Hinca" because "It sounds Spanish."

Thanksgiving in Mount Shasta

It's the Sunday before Thanksgiving and its snowing in Mt. Shasta. This is going to be a great year for snow.
UPDATE: Now it's New Years and it hasn't snowed in Mt. Shasta since that Saturday before Thanksgiving.

Halloween 2011

Oh, the weeks of preparation. And the many Halloween parties (the Church Chili Cookoff, Loma Portal Elementary's Monster Bash, Sunset Elementary's Carnival, Sea World's Spooktacular, and of course Halloween itself). We are exhausted and it was all worth it. Look at these kids!

The Morning After Girls II

The Morning After Girls came to town again. I've been anticipating their tour for a very, very long time. It was cold and rainy on a Wednesday night at the Soda Bar on El Cajon Boulevard. The lads were most friendly. I asked Sascha if I could snap a few Polaroids. He introduced me to Martin and then rallied the other members. We went into the street and took a dozen shots. Here are the best - lots of effects, distortion, and color - some of it planned, some unplanned. The double exposures, planned. The blotchy edges, unplanned. Great music and great show.

Justice League . . . For Bunnies

Erika left this drawing sitting around. She didn't think much of it but I was amazed. She's five years old, people, five years old! And I thought the action poses of her super hero bunnies was spectacular.

With Erika's permission, and under her direction, I copied one of the bunnies. Every line and emotion is her's. I just isolated the character and cleaned up the edges a little. And now it hangs on our craft room's wall.
