The Asteroids Galaxy Tour

Wow. Wow. Wow. Braved a little rain on a Monday night to see The Asteroids Galaxy Tour. Met up with Tommy and Jodi (on her birthday no less!) at the Belly Up and just luuuuuv'd the show.

Vacationer started the show with a nice and easy Hawaiian-rock vibe (surprisingly they're from Philly).

Then AGT took the stage and just rocked it with their amazing rythym and horn sections. Mette Lindsberg's quirky, pitch-perfect voice was terrific. Absolutely brilliant performance. A super solid set with a rock-flute solo no less!

I felt lucky to see them in a small venue because I doubt they'll play small clubs much longer. Heather and I left thinking the same thoughts - we have to tell our friends to catch this tour before it leaves the United States.

My Poke' Ninjas

Christian here. Can't I post something too? Well, here it is - my latest drawing of Pokemon Ninjas. This is Oshawott and Dewott. I made these two drawings of Pokemon as Ninjas instead of the regular look because I like to combine my two favorite things. These two Pokemon are water-types and I'm kind of into the water-types. I also like to combine peanut butter and Nutella.

Just You Wait

A lot happened in 2011 and I didn't blog about it. But it's never too late to start anew. So stay tuned.

The Speedzone

Love that Speedzone in La Puente. Dragged the entire crew for a couple of hours of racing and putt-putt golf. Here's Heather and Erika readying to pass me, once again. I can't tell whether their smiles are from the speed or the gas fumes.

Court of Honor

The family held a Court of Honor in grandma and grandpa's backyard for scouting's newest Eagles - Andrew, Jack, and David. It was the best Court of Honor I've ever attended. All the scouts wore their uniforms including our little Cub Christian. Each of the boys explained their Eagle project. Their parents beamed as they described the importance of scouting in their lives. And then the boys gave a pin to their hero grandpa.

The Tops

Turned some tops on my lathe for the kids. Herman Miller fans will recognize the shapes of these tops. The designs are by KleinReid and were inspired by Charles Eames. Not an easy task for a novice turner like me.

Day 7, Disney World

How many times were our flights canceled/changed/delayed/modified/rearranged? Too many times to count. But hey, they gave us two free hotel rooms and five meal vouchers.
